Winter Daze – February half term 2012
Winter Daze for February half term is now available to view and download on the LBWF web site.
Packed with ideas and information about centres of activity for the forthcoming half term holiday. The range of things to do covers sport, crafts, gardening and much more.
As always Waltham Forest services cover a range of ages, with something to do for the under 5′s, 5 plus, 13 – 19 years…and people of all ages and abilities too.

Welcome the New year in…
Waltham Forest are holding two major FREE firework displays on Monday 2nd. January 2012.
You can see the details below, with events at the Marsh Lane Playing Fields and also at The Highams Park.
We are going to be welcoming in 2012 with a bang, as we light up the sky of Waltham Forest with two spectacular firework shows that will be choreographed to music from the movies.
Mark the end of your seasonal celebrations by coming down to Marsh Lane in Leyton or The Highams Park to marvel at the fireworks, while enjoying our fun packed entertainment programme including a fantastic fun fair, fire performers and food and drink stalls for everyone to enjoy.
You can register with the Borough to keep up to date with the Big Six events in Olympic Year, with a chance to get free tickets to events, here.
New Mums Group on Wednesday!
Did you know that we held a group especially for new mums every Wednesday morning?
At this drop-in session you can call in for a drink and a chat, meet other new mums like you and let your little one play with the soft toys and activities set up for you by our Play and Learn team.
Come on in, don’t be shy and we look forward to seeing you between 9.30am and 11.30am at the Centre.

Autumn Daze 2011
A new edition of Autumn Daze is now available online to download. See more here for the 2011 edition.
This great Waltham Forest publication offers parents and carers information about activities available on the borough for the forthcoming half-term break.
There are details of things to do for children under five, for children between five and ten years, as well as for young people aged eleven to nineteen years of age.
You can also find activities for the whole family – from Brooks Farm activity sessions to spectacular firework display.

Professional curtains?
We have a new professional curtainmaking course starting on Monday 10th October 2011.
This is a Level One award course, for ten weeks from 9.30 am to 3.00pm every Monday.
For more information and to enrol come into Chingford Hall Children’s Centre on Thursday 6th October between 1.00pm and 4.00pm.
Do bring along a proof of address and evidence of any benefits you are claiming.
Course fees:
Full cost: £188.00 | Free to those on JSA! | £1.00 per hour if you are on
income support!

Is your bike fit enough?
Don’t forget to ring and register for your free smoothie on the day of Le Tour de Waltham Forest – Sunday 26th June 2011.
You can call on 020 8496 3000 and get involved in this great day of cycling, exercise and fun taking place in Walthamstow Town Square.
Why not go along and and check out the great cycle displays and get a free bike safety check?
On the day you can take part in bike rides around the borough. For the really keen try the bronze, silver or gold rides – from 6 to 22 miles.

If you are looking for activities during the coming half term break, then the Waltham Forest May Daze is a great resource.
It has activities available during the week for children and young people of all ages, from the under 5′s to the 11-19 age group.
Whether your children are passionate about football and fitness, badminton and bouncy castles or just a classic story time – you’ll find it in May Daze.

National Family Week is a series of events and activities designed to bring families together, provide inspirational family fun and let you have access to some family focused special offers too.
